Volvo China Open 2010

After yet another near miss last week with Lee Westwood finishing 2nd in The Masters, the European Tour heads for Suzhou Jinji Lake GC in China. The golf club consists of 27 holes and the 18 selected for this week will be the Wetlands course for the first nine holes and the Links course for the back nine. It will be a tough test for all and without the benefit of any course form you may do well to keep good links players on your side. To that end I have decided to take a punt on Thomas Bjorn who seems to be getting better each week and the great Dane loves Links! The fact that he is on offer at 66/1 makes my selection easier. Others in the frame are Peter Lawrie who has been in great form lately and the Dubliner will be well used to playing links as will his compatriot Shane lowry who won his home open last year at Baltray Links in Ireland. Peter & Shane can be backed at 45s & 100s respectively. I passed over Richard Finch for a top 10 finish in Spain recently and I am tempted to back him at 40s with Bodog (www.bodog.com) but I dont have an account with them yet and prefer to wait until the bank improves before doing so. Lets hope the decision to leave him out this week proves to be correct. My frequent selection, Alexander Noren, is available at 50s and its this price that makes it hard to ignore him despite his recent injuries.
