Trophee Hassan II - 2013

European action moves to another continent this week. Quite a number of players have made the long flights from Kuala Lumpur to Agadir, Morocco and will be delighted to leave the thunderstorms behind for a much better climate in the North West of Africa. This will be the third year the event will be staged at the Golf du Palais GC where Northern Ireland's, Michael Hoey defends. Its a poor enough field this week, but to be expected really when most of the top Europeans are concentrating on plying their trade in the US this year as well as this being just 2 weeks ahead of the Masters at Augusta.


I am putting up just two selections this week for this event, it really is an open field but one at the top of the market that I do like is Rafa Cabrera-Bello. Last week he had his clubs stolen enroute to Malaysia, but was undeterred and eventually finished in a tie for 22nd. The Spaniard will be happy to be here on a course that should play to his strengths.That T22nd comes on the back of 3 TOP 25s in the Desert Swing, two WGC events under his belt, so I am expecting him to be well warmed up to strike in a field of this quality. 25/1 with Paddypower

My second pick is Scotsman, Scott Jamieson. Playing very well this season and almost took out the Volvo Champions back in January for this blog. T17th in Malaysia following a top 25 at the Cadillac in much better quality, the Scotsman can complete a "home nations" success following Welsh, English & Irish success here the past 3 years. 40/1  with is value in my eyes with

Lee Slattery has been tipped by this blog in South Africa lately based on consistent performances. That consistency will reap rewards eventually and this week is an opportunity once again to challenge the leaderboard. At 100/1, he cannot be ignored and I have included him on the staking plan.
