The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village - 2013

Welcome to The Memorial Tournament....well maybe it's better if you have your host, Jack Nicklaus, welcome you to this quality tournament that Tiger Woods has won 5 times in the past here.
This is a big one this week on the PGA Tour! Just 2 weeks now to the 2nd Major of the year, so alot of the top players are in action at "Jack's Place", Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio.  Tiger is everyone's favourite and is as low as 9/4 to win this week. Will he though ? He should but, of course, I want value elsewhere. So whilst I have a "gut feeling" that Tiger won't win this week, I won't be approaching it with that in mind. There is great value taking Tiger out of the equation so all selections in the betting w/o Tiger market.

I like Kevin Streelman this week, possibly influenced by price too. 55/1 w/o Tiger with BET365 is very tempting dspite missing the cut last week. 11/15 this season with 5 TOP5s, the missed cut arrived off the back of 2-6-3 finishes. That 2nd was to Tiger at The Players. That repeated here will do very nice indeed. His form is too good to ignore on the back of last week, he will be rested and re-focussed. he was T7th here in 2011 too.

My second selection is Charl Schwartzel. I wanted to back Matt Kuchar having come close to the win last week. Haven't decided if the 22/1 outright or the 14/1 w/o is the better value so I'm sidestepping for a player I have shortlisted for Merion and a player that is in good form and is due a win, a significant one at that. Charl has the game to take on Muirfield with his super shotmaking and should his putter get hot, he could be our man. 25/1 w/o with Betpack is a definite pick for me.

Whilst tempted by Justin Rose and Rickie Fowler here also, I am leaving them out to grab some value in the shape of Scott Piercy @ 90/1 also with Betpack.  Piercy has made 9/14 cuts this season, 3 TOP 10s with a further 2 TOP 15s. The missed cuts push out this weeks price as they came at difficult tracks but if he gets a good start he is worth a punt at these odds.

I'm taking a 4th selection in Michael Thompson who I also put up last week. He had decent start last week but couldn't capitalize over the weekend. He has a fondness for the more difficult assignments. He missed the cut last year in his only appearance to date and dspite 7 missed cuts from 13 starts this season , he has a win and a further TOP10 to his name. Now ranked in the World TOP50, Thompson is capable of putting a good week together and completes my staking plan at a whopping 200/1 (w/o) Betpack

TIP 1: 1 pt e/w K.Streelman @ 55/1 w/o Tiger BET365

TIP 2: 1 pt e/w C.Schwartzel @ 25/1 w/o Tiger Betpack

TIP3: 0.5 pts e/w S.Piercy @ 90/1 w/o Tiger Betpack

TIP 4: 0.5 pts e/w M.Thompson @ 200/1 w/o Tiger  Betpack
