The Barclays - Fedex Play Off Week 1

Having studied the market for the Johnnie Walker at Gleneagles this week I have concluded that this is yet another week where the winner could come from just about anywhere. So attention will be focussed on the Barclays this week over in the US, where the playoff commences for the Fedex Cup. A new venue this year, so it will be hard to pick on course form but some interesting reaction from the European contigent about the sloping greens would suggest that they may have a big say this week. I, however, will be sticking to the recent form as an idicator as to where the winner may be and I have to start with Zach Johnson. Playing ever so consistently this season without landing a title, the course this week is suggesting that it may benefit him here and if he putts the way he has been, it could be just his week and he is my first choice @ 40/1 with Paddypower

Second up is Jim Furyk, the reigning Fedex Cup winner.Widely available at 45/1 he has been hitting form lately and again this course suggests it will suit his game and he is sure to put up a good defence of the title. He is taken to do so with Bet365

Third choice is a player that I seldom back. A player that I never really liked until this year. This year I have been amazed at his attitude in clawing his way back into form and in particular to his off course demeanour. His split with girlfriend seemed to have had an effect on him and now that the dust has settled, Sergio Garcia seems to getting back to his very best and will be a challenger this week at 40/1 with Boylesports. As I begin to like "El Nino" perhaps he can really grow on me with a win this week. Let's hope so!
