WGC Mexico Card

Having followed Matty Fitzpatrick and Lucas Bjerregaard for 6 holes on the Friday in Dubai, I'm keen to get on board with both here in Mexico on a course that suits.The Englishman was playing very nicely at The Emirates whilst the Dane showed his mentality over the front -9 that day to hang in before hitting the birdie trail. They have experience playing at altitude and won't be fazed by the field and offer real value for a bold showing here. Lucas can be backed e/w @ 200/1 for 5 places but I'll take the 150/1 for the extra 2 places generally available

I do like the chances of Justin Thomas too, of course he'll arrive on the back of huge disappointment in LA on Sunday night but he's hitting form and can maintain it for another week.

Perth Super-6

The ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth will combine 54 holes of traditional stroke play across the first three days with an exciting knockout match play format for the fourth and final round.

A regular cut will fall after 36 holes before the field is then further reduced to the top 24 players following 54 holes of regulation play, with any ties for 24th place being decided by a play-off. Those remaining players will then earn their places in the six-hole shootout.

Any matches tied after the six holes will be decided in a hole-by-hole play-off. The winner will then progress to the next round of the match play or, in the case of the final match, be crowned champion of the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth.

Vic Open 2019

A very open field this week for the Vic Open in Geelong, Australia where I was very tempted to go in again with one of last week's selections, Aaron Rai @ 23.00.  Given quite a number of players in the field are of local (PGA Australia players that is) of which the majority are of unknown calibre, I've opted for three players that I thought were decent value for the week.

Gavin Moynihan will relish the courses this week, will love the wind and the fact that his Walker Cup team-mate, Paul Dunne is also in the field should help motivate him to collect the personal wager between them and post a decent score here. The Dubliner showed towards the end of 2018 that he's about to hit form by finishing 8th at Valderamma and 11th at Mauritius. He's been out in Dubai a number of weeks honing his game of late, and I expect the tight shorter courses this week to play into his hands. He plays The Beach first with a  morning tee time. A TOP-20 is a must bet for me and I'll chance an e/w outright bet too @ 151.00


Zimbabwean, Scott Vincent is improving and has posted a number of decent results throughout his travels in 2018. The field in front of him this week is there for the taking and the offer of 61.00 (7 places) can't be ignored.

42 year old Aussie, Matthew Millar missed the cut last time out in Singapore but in his previous 6 events he posted 5 TOP-5s including at the Emirates Australian Open and the Australian PGA Championship (3rd behind Cameron Smith & Marc Leishman)

I've chanced a threeball win for Aussie amateur, David Micheluzzi over compatriot and former course winner, Richard Green and Ireland's, Paul Dunne. The young amateur is ranked no5 in the world and the 22 year old has his sights on bigger and better things. I'll see how round one fares before deciding on 2nd round threeballs to be posted onto card below Thursday evening.
