KLM Open 2013 - Kennemer Golf & Country Club

The KLM Open returns to Kennemer Golf & Country Club this year following 3 years at Hilversum. One of the oldest events on tour, a relatively decent field is in attendance where England's Simon Dyson is aiming for a 4th title. Having won on both Hilversum & Kennemer, Dyson has stated that he does prefer this course of the two but despite obvious improvement in recent weeks I find it hard to see him winning again this time. And he certainly doesn't appeal at 18/1 ! Neither, unfortunately does one of my favourites, Ross Fisher @ 16s!! Crazy price for Ross this week, perhaps an overaction to that super weekend he had  in Switzerland which resulted in a TOP5 but I just cannot back at that price this week.

The course is a par 70 and short at 6800 yds. It has 3 par 5s though (5 par 3s) and the winning score is expected to be somewhere between -12 to -15.  Joost Luiten should go well on this course for sure, but he's the home hope and far too short also in the betting @ 22/1. The field is very competitive with Colsaerts, Jiminez, Casey, Olesen, Manessero, Wood, Lowry, Koepka, Noren, Harrington and recent maiden winner Fleetwood all teeing it up here.

Alex Noren is a favourite of mine and I've already backed the Swede a couple of times this year and was a bit disappointed to hear he was not competing last week in Crans, on a course he had won previously.
But he's here this week and will be keen to move on from his 4 MC before a small injury saw him sidelined.  33/1 has tempted me and if he is fit and raring to go he'll play well here.
Indeed his last 3 visits to Kennemer yielded results of 10-12-3.
He clearly likes it and I'm happy to have a nibble at 33s with Titanbet

My second pick this week is an Irishman not having his best of seasons but has gradually found some form ahead of this week and thats Damien McGrane who clearly has enjoyed playing at Kennemer over the years with his last 5 visits yielding results of 4-20-MC-3-9. A couple of those foremnetioned recent results include T6th at Celtic Manor and a T18th at Le Golf Nacional, so the Irishman should be quietly confident of a good week.  Damien can be backed at 100/1 for 5 places with Paddypower

I'm adding a couple of triple price players this week that could just surprise and the first of those is Kristoffer Broberg @ 200/1 with Betpack who are paying 6 places. The Swede can be backed in general @ 250/1 with just 5 places but I'm suggesting the lower price for the extra place. He's gone off the boil a bit lately but there is no denying his talent and this course may just be to his liking. Either way, the price is too big and its worth small stakes.

The other "outsider" I like this week is Kiradech Aphibarnrat who again is over-priced I think at 100/1.
The Thai player is only 24 and won the Malaysian Open earlier this year and is now pushing for regular events on the Tour. Whilst results lately haven't been great he did finish T25th at the PGA Championship. A missed cut followed at Celtic Manor before he T44th last week in Switzerland. The big hitter is well worth a nibble at 100s in my opinion as the course may suit the 85th best player in the world (OWGR)
