Canadian Open 2022 - St. Georges G&CC, Toronto

The Canadian Open will mimic the Phoenix Open's 16th hole this week, where the players are expecting to be handing out merchandise to the spectators around the green or indeed in the "penalty boxes". Its quite a strong field one week before the US Open to be played at Brookline. St Georges Golf & Country Club just outside of Toronto awaits the field this week

It wasn't easy to eke out the value for this one but I have chanced a couple of players that I think could have a good week as well as having my personal bet on Max McGreevy again whilst his price continues to tempt me in (400/1 - 8 places)

Of the home contingent I'm going to side with Mackenzie Hughes @ 60/1 - 8 places. Twice winner of the Canadian Amateur and a native of Hamilton, Ontario just down the road from here, Hughes has also won on the Canadian Tour and has emphasized his home form by finishing 14-8-32 in his three Canadian Open visits to date. He seems comfortable in his homeland and his odds to improve on his 3 T-10s (2 T-5s) from 14 starts this season seem to be of value.

J.J. Spaun gets another go here this week in the hope he finds the form that saw him win on the PGA Tour six starts ago in Texas. Two missed cuts have followed since but arrives this week fresh and can go well @ 100/1 - 8 places.

J.T. Poston & Mark Hubbard were considered but have opted to go with just the 3 players this week

Selections

1 pt e/w M. Hughes @ 60/1 - 8 places
0.75 pts e/w JJ Spaun @ 100/1 - 8 places
0.50 pts e/w M. McGreevy @ 400/1 - 8 places
