"Grip it & Rip it" week expected at Al Hamra GC this week where the course lays at the mercy of the bombers. If the weather is good, we can expect a birdie-fest and brings the big hitters into the reckoning even those that can be a bit wayward. Well thats based on last years two events at the course and thats the angle I've considered here this week, looking for players who can get it down there, get close enough to make a heap of birdies.
I found a good bit of value in this field and have surprisingly gone with more than I usually do here. Delighted to see Gary Hurley in the field here as he works his way back. The Waterford man came close to packing it in a couple of years ago but a strong Alps Tour campaign last year that yielded a win in Andalucía seems to have ignited the former Walker Cup player and he's already produced a T-15 in Mauritius LTO to add to his two T-40s from his 3 starts on the DP Tour this season. He may just spring a surprise this week and grab a solid result.
My 23-man shortlist (12 of value)
